Dental IT
The sensor either works, or you reschedule the patient.
TechGig builds and maintains the IT stack a working dental practice depends on. Dentrix or Eaglesoft or Open Dental on the front desk, intraoral sensors that fire on the first click, DICOM imaging that does not time out, and a HIPAA Security Risk Analysis that survives an OCR audit. Solo dentist or 20-chair group, the work is the same shape.
What we hear every week
The IT problems that stop the procedure.
None of these are hypothetical. They are the failure modes we built the platform around, drawn from how working dental practices actually run.
Intraoral sensor stops mid-procedure
The sensor takes a bitewing, hangs on the second, and the operatory PC has to be rebooted. Patient is anesthetized and waiting. Almost always a USB power-management or driver issue, not the sensor.
Imaging server crashes during morning rush
Three chairs all hit the imaging server at 8:15. The service dies. Nobody notices until the second pano fails ten minutes later and the morning is already lost.
Dentrix will not open on the new workstation
You bought a new front-desk PC. Dentrix installs but throws a SQL connection error every time. Three hours of IT-vendor ping-pong instead of a one-call fix.
Insurance will not process because imaging failed to transmit
Pre-auth gets denied because the X-ray packet did not reach the carrier portal. The DICOM-to-clearinghouse step failed silently a week ago and nobody got an alert.
Front desk locked out of the schedule
Practice management software wants a password reset. The dentist owns the admin account. The dentist is in surgery. Nothing moves for an hour.
After-hours emergency: server down, Monday morning incoming
Sunday at 6 p.m. a power blip kills the imaging server. You have 14 hours before the first patient. MSP support hours start at 8 a.m. Monday.
Foundation bundle
The setup a dental practice needs on day one.
The top rung of our assessment ladder: a scoped, fixed-price engagement that gets every chair, sensor, and workstation working in concert, done for you in one pass by a tech with dental vertical experience. Prefer to start smaller? A baseline assessment and remediation roadmap get you there in steps. After this, ongoing work runs on a regular plan or per-ticket.
31 credits, one-time engagement
What is included
- Practice management software install (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental)
- Intraoral sensor validation on every chair, including USB and driver tuning
- DICOM workflow validation from capture through transmission
- HIPAA Security Risk Analysis plus BAA inventory across every PHI-touching vendor
- Network segmentation: clinical VLAN, front-desk VLAN, guest Wi-Fi isolated
- Backup configuration plus a real restore test (not a "we will get to it later")
- 5 training sessions for clinical and front-desk staff
- Documentation handoff: network diagram, vendor list, recovery runbook
The lower price is Standard-tier delivery; the higher is Specialist-tier. We confirm the right fit and the exact number on the scoping call.
After the bundle
Ongoing work, billed the way you want.
Most practices roll into the Growth or Professional plan once the foundation is in place. A few stay on pure pay-per-ticket. Either way, the same vetted techs handle the recurring work.
Imaging server support
When the imaging service or its database misbehaves, the ticket routes to a tech who has worked imaging stacks before, with the recovery runbook from your bundle on hand.
Chairside and sensor support
When a sensor flakes, the ticket routes to a tech who has done sensor work before. AI handles the routine driver and USB tickets before a human is dispatched.
Multi-site dispatch coordination
If you run more than one practice, dispatch coordinates across locations so the right tech goes to the right operatory without you playing project manager.
Why TechGig
A national tech bench that already knows your stack.
Most MSPs treat dental as "small business plus HIPAA." It is not. Operatory IT has its own failure modes and the techs who fix them have to have seen them before.
See plans and per-ticket pricing- 01
Vertical-tagged dispatch
A Dentrix or Eaglesoft ticket goes to a tech who knows that exact platform. Not the next name in a generic queue.
- 02
AI that knows the operatory stack
Our AI support layer is built for the routine failure modes of the major dental practice management platforms and common intraoral sensor vendors. Its design target is resolving the driver and config tickets before a human is ever dispatched.
- 03
No per-seat fees
MSPs price per seat, so a growing practice pays more every month before a single ticket is worked. We do not bill that way. Plan or per-ticket, the seat count is irrelevant.
Compliance FAQ
Questions dental practices ask before they switch.
Plain answers. If "it depends" is the real answer, we tell you what it depends on.
Start with an assessment.
A baseline assessment tells you exactly what your operatory IT needs. If the imaging server is already healthy, the SRA already current, the BAAs already on file, we say so. Climb from there: gap assessment, remediation roadmap, or the done-for-you foundation bundle.
Start with free AI chat, no credit card. Plans have no contracts and cancel anytime. Bundles are one-time and fixed-price.
Healthcare organizations review and accept our Business Associate Agreement in the app before purchasing services. Read the BAA.
